Yes, you read that correctly.  I’m thrilled to announce that Dance With Deception has received a five star review from Lettetia Elsasser on SingleTitles.com.

What did Ms. Elsasser have to say?  Here’s the review that has me over the moon:

“Dance With Deception is a stellar debut by gifted author, Tracy Goodwin. You will be proud to display this one on your ‘keeper’ shelves.

Sebastian Montgomery, Ninth Duke of Davenport, has made a vow, never marry and definitely do not fall in love. Living in the shadow of his father’s scandalous past Sebastian is content with his single life until he meets the one woman who will make him change his mind.

Gwendolyn MacAlistair is a woman tormented; she has made a promise to her cold and distant father on his death bed to marry a man she despises, yet she is attracted to Sebastian Montgomery. He just may be the one man she will love forever. How does a woman do the right thing when she would rather die than do it?

The road to happily ever after is filled with many uphill battles; lies and duplicity threaten to keep Sebastian and Gwen from forming a lasting relationship. As we follow the progression from attraction, to passion, to love, we are made aware of the obstacles thrown into the path of our lovers. Sebastian hides his pain well, having grown up in the shadow of his father’s infamous exploits, he is against a close relationship of any kind with a woman. Gwen is a woman grown up without the love of her father, always trying to prove her worth. I felt an emotional connection to Sebastian and Gwen right away. They stole a little bit of my heart as I read the heartbreaking yet heartwarming story of their love. Keir is a truly reprehensible character. He epitomized evil in my opinion. I laughed, I cried, I got angry. All the time, I cheered them on to keep going and prayed it would work out for them. It isn’t often I fall in love with characters, but I certainly did with these two. If this is a debut novel, I eagerly anticipate the next offering by Tracy Goodwin. Dance With Deception expertly blends romance, danger and lush sensuality in one brilliant novel. I applaud you, Ms Goodwin.”

I have a confession - I was rooting for the Giants yesterday.  Yes, this Cowboys/Jets fan was rooting for the “enemy”.  What is the old adage?  The enemy of my enemy is my friend … it applies here.  I was rooting for the Giants (who had earlier beaten my Cowboys) and the Giants won!  Woo-hoo!  It was a Defense-Bowl for much of the game (low scoring, defenses battling it out) and, in the end, the Giants beat the “unbeatable” Patriots.

Why was I rooting for the Giants?  Plain and simple, the pundants had predicted a Patriots win for months now.  At some point about two months ago, I even wondered why we just don’t crown them Super Bowl champs without even playing the big game … it was said to be so inevitable.  But, not so fast.  Wildcard Giants beat every team they played throughout the playoffs, on the road.  Not an easy feat.  This team wanted victory and, even more important, were virtually written off.  They wanted to prove people wrong.  And they did!

Congrats to the Giants for a spectacular win!  It was a team effort and they proved that no one should have written them off.  Especially the Patriots.  Michael Strahan was interviewed after the win and spoke of “watching a lot of television” and hearing the Patriots call the Giants “overconfident” … uh-oh.  Moral of this story: be careful what you say about the other team … you might just make them angry enough to beat you and take away your perfect season.  It seems that the Patriots were guilty of overconfidence.

Now, on another note - did Jordin Sparks lipsync the National Anthem?  It seems impossible (especially since she looked so nervous before belting out the song) but Jordin did indeed look like she was lipsyncing.  And if she did, shame on her!  The National Anthem and the word lipsync just shouldn’t be associated with each other.

Finally, it was great to see Tony Romo and the Cowboys in the Super Bowl!  Yes, they were there albeit not playing the big game.  They were in a Justin Timberlake commercial for Pepsi.  Ah, well.  If you can’t beat ‘em, advertise!
